Group Harmony

Set in a lush valley of orange groves between the mountains and the sea, Soller is a
charming, historic town full of leafy squares, narrow streets and cobbled paths. Many day
trippers arrive by vintage train from Palma, the discerning ones come and stay.

Soller grew rich on oranges, and the smart houses were the homes of the town's 18th and
19th century fruit merchants. Hotel Salvia (www.hotelsalvia.com) is one of the original Grand
Mallorquin townhouses and has been lovingly restored and brought up to date by its owners
Siobhan and Brian Kearney. Stylish and spacious, yet with plenty of places to 'hide', Hotel
Salvia is ideal for private hire.

Siobahn and Brian have incorporated their own style and warmth into Salvia and each of its
6 beautiful suites, and the attention to detail is impressive. The rooms are filled with dark
Spanish wooden furniture and antiques, and pretty light fabrics. Lavish roll top baths, and
grand gilt- edged mirrors make the ensuite bathrooms a particular feature, and fresh
flowers and candles create a heady ambience.

From the large shuttered windows intoxicating scents of herbs, oranges and lemons rise up
from the colourful gardens, and the majestic Serra de Tramuntana Mountains provide the
perfect backdrop to the heated swimming pool. Shady terraces are ideal for an afternoon
siesta, and are lit up with candles to provide a magical evening ambience.

Tennis lessons, walking guides, natural health and beauty treatments, local boat and bike
hire can all be arranged by the hotel. There are a number of internationally recognised golf
courses nearby, and Palma, is less than an hour away.

Exclusive hire of the house and its staff is available on selected dates from May 2005
onwards, and offers the perfect stylish and relaxing haven for up to 12 people. Costs
around £10,250 per week, which includes airport transfers, daily breakfast, lunch and
dinner twice per week, and dining arrangements at a choice of superb local restaurants five
minutes walk away.
