Soller Information

Sóller is a bustling vibrant town located in the heart of the Tramunatana mountains on the northwest coast of the island of Mallorca. Its location within the fertile Soller Valley makes its quite unique with a short Tram ride to the Port de Sóller, located 3 Km away. The total population living the valley is approximately 13,000, with Sóller being the largest town, followed by Fornalutx and then Biniaraix.
The Sóller Valley and Port can be reached within half an hour from Palma de Mallorca Airport and we have excellent transport links, a unique antique Train and Tram connect us and we also enjoy a regular bus service. The valley and the surrounding mountains, the Serra de Tramuntana, are a favorite destination for people from all over the world, especially those who enjoy hiking, nature, culture, water sports, gastronomy, or simply relaxing away from the tourist crowds of other, perhaps more well-known, places.
Sóller is the launching point of the Tramuntana mountain range for various hiking trails through the mountains, along the coast, and through the beautiful Orange & Lemon Groves. The central square, with its imposing church, trees, outdoor cafes, and mountains as a backdrop, is one of the most beautiful on the island. Surrounded by narrow streets lined with numerous shops, traditional houses, and the old train station, it's the main meeting point for residents and tourists, especially on market days.
Biniaraix is a small village, located 2 km from Sóller, with its main square and the Church of the Immaculate Conception, built in the 16th and 17th centuries. At the end of Sant Josep Street, starting from the square, are the old washhouses that the village women used to use for washing clothes. From there begins the path called the "Barranco de Biniaraix" (Biniaraix Ravine), probably dating back to the Middle Ages, which winds among the stone steps of terraced fields dotted with ancient olive trees, from which a stream flows. This is one of the routes for walking from Sóller to Lluc.
Fornalutx is located in the centre of the Valley and Serra de Tramuntana mountain range its origins date back to the Conquest itself, as it was originally a Moorish village, a fact we can deduce from the layout of its early streets. Together with the neighbouring town of Sóller, the two formed a single municipality until 1813, and in 1837, Fornalutx was granted constitutional rights as an independent municipality. Fornalutx is considered one of the most beautiful villages in Spain .
